What we cover in 30 minutes
Your product specification
Knot type, construction, material, size, and price tier. We tell you whether Tibetan-weave hand-knotted, hand-tufted, or a mixed product line from Nepal is the right answer for your buyers.
Honest origin comparison
If India or Turkey genuinely suits your product tier better, we'll say so. Real differences in knot technique, production model, and total landed cost — no spin.
Real timelines and pricing
Actual lead times for your specific size and construction, current FOB estimates, sampling costs, and what a first order looks like from inquiry to delivery.
This consultation is right for you if…
- You're a US importer or European distributor evaluating Nepal as a sourcing origin
- You currently source from India or Turkey and want to understand the quality tier difference
- You're specifying hand-knotted rugs for retail, a hospitality contract, or a commercial interior
- Your buyers are asking for GoodWeave, Label STEP, or equivalent ethical sourcing documentation
- You want both hand-knotted and hand-tufted from a single certified manufacturer
- You're working on a custom format — large lobby rug, Pantone colourway, or bespoke design
Not sure if this applies to you? Book it anyway. The worst outcome is 30 minutes of clarity.

Who you'll be speaking with
NP Rugs has manufactured and exported hand-knotted and hand-tufted rugs from Kathmandu since 1991. We work directly with US importers, European distributors, luxury retail buyers, and hospitality procurement teams across 20+ countries.
Our production facility operates a centralised campus model — weaving, dyeing, washing, and finishing in one location — with a monthly capacity exceeding 5,000 square metres.
The consultation is conducted by our export team — the same people who will manage your inquiry, sampling, and order if we decide to work together. You're not talking to a sales rep; you're talking to the team that makes the rugs.
Common questions before booking
Is this actually free? What's the catch?
Yes — genuinely free, no obligation. We offer it because our best clients are those who understand what they need before they order. A 30-minute call where we help you get clarity — even if you decide Nepal isn't the right origin — is worth more to us than a bad-fit order that ends in disappointment. No pitch, no follow-up sequence you can't opt out of.
What should I prepare before the call?
Anything about your current or target specification is helpful: size, construction type, material preference, target retail price point, and approximate annual volume. If you have nothing prepared, that's fine — we'll guide you through it on the call.
I'm currently sourcing from India. Is this relevant to me?
Likely yes. Nepal and India produce structurally different products — the Tibetan loop-knot technique Nepal uses is not the same as the Persian or Turkish knot used across Jaipur, Mirzapur, and Agra. If you're sourcing mid-tier Indian hand-knotted and considering a premium tier addition, or if your buyers are asking for GoodWeave documentation your current supplier can't provide, the call is relevant.
What if I need hand-tufted, not hand-knotted?
We produce both from the same facility, under the same GoodWeave certification. You can build a complete product line — a premium hand-knotted hero piece with a coordinating hand-tufted accent — from one supplier.
What's the minimum order if we decide to work together?
For a bespoke lobby or statement piece, MOQ is one unit — no volume penalty for a single large-format custom rug. For multi-unit room rollouts or retail programmes, we typically ask for a minimum of 20 units per design to optimise the dyeing and production run.
How quickly do you respond after I book?
You'll receive an automatic booking confirmation immediately. Our export team reviews all consultations within 24 hours and may send a short pre-call questionnaire to make the 30 minutes as useful as possible. Calls are available Monday–Friday across US EST, UK GMT, and CET time zones.
