Who This Programme Is For
NP Rugs works directly with:
– Interior designers and architects specifying custom rugs for residential and hospitality projects
– Hospitality buyers sourcing rugs for hotels, resorts, and commercial fit-outs
– Retailers and showrooms building a private-label or curated handmade rug range
– Importers and distributors sourcing factory-direct for better margins

with our Kathmandu facility.

Why Trade Buyers Choose NP Rugs Over a Middleman
The Factory, Not the Middleman
Most rug suppliers buying from Nepal are distributors. They purchase from factories like ours, add a margin, and sell to you. You pay for their warehouse, their sales team, and their markup - typically 30 to 60% above factory cost.
NP Rugs is the factory.
When you order through NP Rugs, the price reflects labour, materials, and export. Nothing else. The artisan who weaves your rug works at 780 Tusal Marg, Boudha - the same address on your invoice.
What That Means in Practice
- Lower unit cost at equivalent or higher quality
- Direct access to production - changes, samples, and updates without a middleman relaying messages
- Compliance documentation (GoodWeave, Label STEP) sourced from the facility that earned it, not a distributor repackaging paperwork
- No minimum order inflated to cover distributor logistics - our MOQ is one piece

Manufacturing
What We Produce
Four construction methods from one integrated facility in Kathmandu.
Hand-Knotted
Tibetan and Persian knot techniques at 40 to 350 KPSI. A 9x12 ft rug at 100 KPSI requires approximately 1.3 million individual knots. The most durable construction we make.
Most DurableHand-Tufted
Customisable pile depth and texture. Shorter lead times than hand-knotted. Used widely in hospitality and retail custom programmes.
Hospitality & Retail
Hand-Loomed
Flatweaves and soumaks in natural plant-based fibres. Lightweight and scalable.
Natural FibresHand-Woven
Shuttle-woven on traditional looms. Suited to flatweave designs requiring tighter structure and finer pattern definition.
Fine Pattern Definition
